The Shop

My Specialist Project:

We have all been affected by the global

financial meltdown, and this has made me

question whether design has been positively

affected by the forced simplification of graphics and color.

Will we learn from the mistakes made that

have lead to this global crisis?

We generally turn to budget living and No Name products when times are financially tough.

However as soon as we get a little rope we hang ourselves as it is straight back to luxurious living and shopping for high end brands. Is this a

vicious cycle that is too comfortable to break causing us to destroy everything, and

consequently self destruct?

The Shop is a futuristic value store in the year 2045, stocking what may be regular daily items if we do not accept responsibility for our

actions and react. The Shop has been designed to make a social comment and serve as a

warning to mankind.

If we do not learn from our mistakes is this where we could be heading?

“If we can recognize that change

and uncertainty are basic principles,

we can greet the future and the

transformatioin we are undergoing

with the understanding that we do not know enough to be pessimistic.”

Head Over Heels

PACKAGING DESIGN:

>> The concept behind Head Over Heels
Premium packaging is the pure love
and appreciation of hand crafted
shoes. These premium products are
packaged in a manner that allows the
product to be hung up inside the
consumers wardrobe and treated with
care and respect of someone
who is “head over heels” in love with
fine craftsmanship and great design.
There is also a play on the name and
way in which the packaging is
designed to be used, instead of
placing them in a pile on the floor.

SELF PROMOTIONAL WEB SITE

>> These are some screen shots of a self
promotional web site we had to create as
one of our briefs at collage.
This web site was a metaphorical journey
portrayed in a series of water color illustrations
that the viewer can experience by locating the
paint blob buttons hidden on each page and
clicking their way through as they unfold and
explore the site.
